I am amazed at how quickly the days are passing. Seems my life has been a blur of furiously tackling tasks, completing overdue projects, climbing mountains of laundry and descending to find a houseful of mess to clean. I haven't really even baked in a couple weeks, resorting to buying sliced bread to save time and energy. I'm ready for a break, but I don't see that in the schedule.
Next week the older kids will attend their last day of school at Mesabi East. Next year they will homeschool with Minnesota Virtual Academy. I will try to enjoy the summer, and pray continuously that the challenge of teaching them at home will go smoothly. I hope to train them to sleep in a little, at the very least.

Oh Joy, A New Toy!
Not a toy, really, but something that I've been wanting for a long time. In the event of widespread catastrophe and the world is without power, I can sew clothing without electricity.
Once I find a needle, fix the pulley cord and oil it.

A Boy and a Bismarck
To the rest of the world, they are know as jelly-filled donuts. To Minnesotans, they are "bismarcks". I really don't know why. The why doesn't matter. The only thing that does matter is how fast the boy can get it into his mouth.

Happy Easter from the Northwoods
I am so thankful to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus. We spent the morning at church and the afternoon with Jesse's family. The kids hunted eggs at the grandparents house. Here are a few pictures.

Easter Procrastination
You know what they say ... procrastinators are the leaders of tomorrow! And so, being Chief Procrastinator, I have put off sewing the Easter outfits for the kids. The rush is on to complete the last two dresses, but this is what I've done so far.
All I need to do now is get the other two dresses done by Saturday night. I think I can, I think I can. :)
Isaac's grass green shirt will coordinate with the girls' dresses. This was a first of many things for me. Button holes, pockets, sleeves and collar.
Riley's dress for Easter is satin, with black trim. The dress also presented a first for me: a zipper. But all went well, and I am thankful for it.

A Boy and a Basket
Life gets interesting for a 16-month old boy when you give him a basket.
It's a hat!
It was funny watching him walk into everything until he tipped it up like this.
